Windsurfing under a storm in East Coast Park, Singapore


The East Coast Park is a beach park encompassing the planning areas of Marine Parade, Bedok and Tampines, along the southeastern coast of Singapore.

East Coast Beach Park is one of Singapore’s most treasured urban getaways, offering an invigorating and exciting diversity of sporting, dining and recreational activities. With the theme “Recreation for All”, the park has an activity for everyone.

Considered to be the ideal center for windsurfing in Singapore, thus hosting several windsurfing competitions as well. Windsurfers have the opportunity to feel the adrenaline rush of windsurfing. The winds are not particularly very strong, hence beginners have a chance to improve on their sailing skills.

It is located on the southeastern coast of Singapore and considered to be the largest park in Singapore, and is entirely built on reclaimed land with an artificial man made beach. This scenic spot stretches along over 15 km/9.3 mi long, offering fun and thrilling sporting activities.

Several new attractions have opened at East Coast Park, to cater to the beach and water.The first is the Aloha Sea Sports Centre, which rents out equipment for watersports and conducts courses for these activities.

The centre, which has been in business since September 2017, is at the location most recently occupied by the Mana Mana Beach Club, which closed in 2015. The company behind the centre is investment company Haiyi Holdings, which is owned by Mr Gordon Tang, a Singapore-based businessman who is also an avid windsurfer and competitive sailor.

Nearby is the Singapore Wake Park, which offers cable wakeboarding, where participants ride on water using a wakeboard pulled by an electrically driven cable.

The best period for windsurfing here is from July to October, where you can enjoy the hot summer sun and strong winds that will displace your table like never before. The gentle wind in the morning is ideal for beginners. In the afternoon, the wind increases and allows the experts to make their own.

Although, you will not always be able to count on that luck, like these guys who met a heavy downpour. However, the rain did not stop the passion for water sports, and without hesitation they ventured to the water, sailing in the rain, it is a totally different experience, but equally pleasant

East Coast Park has a total land size of 185 hectares, and a scenic coastline that stretches over 15 km, and attracts a visitorship of more than seven million a year.
