The HA Lumb (Lumb) was a fishing trawler which was purposefully sunk as an artificial reef in 1994. She lies approximately 2 km’s West of Port Noarlunga in Gulf St. Vincent. At approximately 18-20 metres bottom, it is quite a popular dive site.
The HA Lumb was a Tug Vessel operating out of Tasmania, Australia prior to being converted to a fishing trawler, where it plied its trade from the Port Lincoln region of South Australia.
The Lumb lies approximately 15 metres from another wreck, the MV Seawolf. Unlike the Seawolf, which lies on its side, the Lumb sits upright.
Generally good fish life and commonly accommodating Wobbygongs, Blue Devils, Giant Cuttlefish to name a few.
I hope you enjoy the footage. Take time to dive the Lumb and Seawolf if visiting South Australia. These wrecks are commonly found on the itinerary of local charters, dive clubs and private diving groups.
