Sting Rays and Seal eating Spider crabs. Some observations


There are millions of spider Crabs in Port Phillip Bay Melbourne. Their habit of forming large aggregations sets them apart form other Crabs.
They play a major role in weed reduction but its their mound building habits that have given them celebrity status among’s local divers.

    Are they at rye pier now pang ?

      @jetty now on 13/6/2014 been there for a week, all are moulting. They might move off before the weekend.

      No there not at rye jetty (as@ 2/5/2014)-but have been moving through a couple of time in the last  2 months. I thought a couple of times the group were going to stop and stay but they all just kept marching.
